I remember the day I graduated High School. I was so freaking excited. I picked out this thin blue tie-dye dress and I got my hair cut and straightened. I thought I was so cool. There wasn't anything cooler than being a graduating senior in High School. All the seniors looked down on all the other grades like they were minions. I remember when I threw my cap. I was super OCD and I only threw it about two feet, directly above me so I could get my exact cap back. Now looking back I would have thrown that thing all the way up in the air as high as I could. Who the heck cares what cap you get back!? It's not like I ever wore that thing again! Whatever you are graduating from, whether it's high school, college, or grad school, make it a party!

DIY Graduation Champagne Flute Caps

What you need
Black construction paper
Gold embroidery thread (or desired color)
Glass flutes
Ruler
Pencil
Hot glue
Fabric glue

Directions
1. Measure and cut (1) 1" by Approximately 4" strip of construction paper for each glass flute you are using. Wrap the strip of paper snuggly inside the top of the glass. Allowing for a one inch overlap, trim off excess paper. Remove strip from glass and hot glue the circle together.

2. Measure and cut a 2 ½" square piece of construction paper. Again, making one for each flute.

3. Run a thin line of hot glue along one edge of the paper circle. Center and attach to the construction paper. Set aside.

4. For the tassels, cut five 6" pieces of gold embroidery thread. Lay them together and fold in half so you have 10 strands for the tassel. Smooth threads and make sure ends are even. Take one piece of the thread and begin wrapping it about a half inch below the loop where you folded the threads in half. Wrap five or six times and use fabric finish to hold the wrap in place, pressing firmly to adhere. Allow to dry. Trim any excess thread from the wrapping if needed.

5. Put a dab of hot glue on one side of the "wrapped" area of the tassel. Center the loop on the mortar board and press into place.
