Caramel Apple Squares

Caramel Apple Squares 🍏

Ingredients (Qty: 6)

24 oz dark chocolate chips

2 tart green apples

6 oz (1/2 bag) caramel bits + 1 tbs water

Square Mold

Flake salt or chopped salted peanuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Melt your chocolate in a large bowl at 30 second intervals, stirring in between each time.

  2. Using a small scoop, pour chocolate into the bottom of each mold and spread up the sides. Tap the mold on the counter to evenly spread the chocolate.

  3. Slice two tart apples into 1” apple rings and remove the center with a cookie cutter or apple corer. Dry very well with a paper towel.

  4. Place one apple ring inside each chocolate covered mold.

  5. Melt half a bag of caramels with 1 tbs of water at 30 second intervals, stirring in between.

  6. Pour some melted caramel in the center of each apple.

  7. Top with more chocolate and tap mold on the counter so chocolate evenly spreads around the apple. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Store in the fridge until ready to eat. Let sit at room temp for ten minutes before eating.

TIPS: Do not leave out for long periods of time because apples are very moist and chocolate will soften. If using another square mold find one that is close to the size of the apple, otherwise you will have too much chocolate in the edges.
