Candy Apples

Candy Apples 🍏 These are similar to my viral double coated apples, but these are made with less chocolate, peanut butter (you can also use caramel), and chopped candy. Perfect for any left over Halloween candy. These need to be made the day of and eaten within hours since the apples are peeled and cored. You don’t have to peel your apple if you use small green apples that fit. I linked the silicone mold in my Amazon shop and below.

Ingredients

1-2 green apples

1/2 cup peanut butter, room temp.

7 oz semi or dark chocolate

Chopped candies and nuts

Silicone mold

Round cookie cutter

Directions

  1. Melt your chocolate in a medium bowl at 30 second intervals, stirring in between until completely melted. (If your chocolate seizes you can add 1 tsp of vegetable shortening so it becomes smooth again)

  2. Add a small amount of melted chocolate to your silicone mold and coat the sides of the circle.

  3. Slice and core your green apple. Using a round cookie cutter, cut your apple to size to fit the mold.

  4. Place one apple slice inside each chocolate filled cavity and add a tablespoon of peanut butter or caramel to the center of the apple. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.

  5. Drizzle melted chocolate over the top of the apple with a spoon or piping bag. Add chopped candies or salted peanuts or flake salt. Refrigerate for another five minutes then serve immediately.

** These are meant to be eaten within hours of being made since the apples are sliced and peeled.
