In Direction 2. it says to mix SCM, vanilla and salt. However, there is no mention of vanilla in the list of ingredients. How much vanilla should be added? Thank you!
Jessie Daye
I’m sorry! It wasn’t showing the full ingredients. I just updated the exact measurements for each one!

For the lavender variation, is it the 2 cups of cream that will be used as the base that is infused, then cooled and whipped?
Jessie Daye
Yes! I just edited that one to have more instruction since it could be a little confusing.
Jessie Daye
Thank you!

Where do you get edible cookie dough for the cookies and cream recipe
Jessie Daye
They sell edible cookie dough in tiny containers near the yogurt at some stores in America, but it’s hard to find. All Recipes has a good recipe for “edible cookie dough” – you simply roll into balls and put them in the ice cream.

Is there a healthy substitute for the sweetened condensed milk? Would unsweetened coconut cream work?
Marcy
I’m wondering the same thing about the sweetened condensed milk? Is there a healthy alternative?
Paula
Where can I find the ice cream containers shown in your video? They are such a perfect shape and size!
Erin Perez
Can’t wait to try this! Is there a printable version available? Thank you.
Jessie Daye
Hi! I’m currently making an entirely new website with recipe printables and metric conversions and ratings, but unfortunately it won’t be up until July!
Sandy Stephens
This looks so good!! I can’t wait to try these, but Do you have HEALTHIER version of sweetened condensed milk? We are trying to limit as much refined sugar as possible. Thank you and I love your containers!!
Jason
The other options are literally at the end of the ingredients list.
Vicky
There is an organic sweetened condensed milk – do t know how much sugar, and there is a coconut condensed milk.
Cheryl Wright
Just ordered the ice cream containers from your link. Can’t wait to try them out! Thank you 🙂
Jessie Daye
Thank you!
Kristen Cisneros
Can’t wait to make it.
Kim jones
I use a can of evaporated milk and 1/2 cup of sugar instead of the sweetened condensed milk.
Christine Savage
So is this version less sugar?
Sheri
Id prefer storing mine in a glass container, but intend on trying this out!
GGBucks
Stupid question but how do you print your recipes
Jessie Daye
Hi! Ugh I know! Until now I couldn’t afford to make a new website, but I’m currently building out an entirely new website with recipe printables and metric conversions and full ratings – It won’t be up until July, but it’s finally coming! Thank you for stopping by.
Sandra
I am so looking forward to making my own ice cream. I also know what has gone into the mix unlike store bought.
Plus my little ladies ( granddaughters) have allergies to certain things
SoThank you
Jessie Daye
Aw I hope you love it!
Anais
Should I whip the heavy cream without sugar in it?
Jessie Daye
Yes it will whip faster without the sweetened condensed milk.
Kris
The containers aren’t available
Tawnya
They do have several other options when you scroll down on the site
Lucille M Hurley
Can you post the lemon ingredients please?
Lucille
Jasmine
What if we just don’t like sweet n condensed milk is using yogurt an option?
Rebecca Poe
I would also like the lemon ingredients:)
Mandy king
Do you have a recipe for coconut icecream? I hat it at a resort in Mexico a fee years ago and it was delicious
Kristina Meccia
I would guess coconut extract and then shaved or shredded coconut if desired (I prefer just the coconut flavor with the smooth texture).
Farrel
I would sub the condensed milk with coconut condensed milk so you don’t have to add as much coconut extract. Sometimes the alcohol in that can kill the other flavors if too much is needed to reach the coconut intensity you’re looking for. Then add extract a little bit at a time until you’re satisfied. That’s how I make my homemade pineapple coconut pops!
Karen
How about a less sugar option?
Iwona
This may seem like a silly question, but what’s the capacity of the cups you’re measuring ingredients in? I live in Poland. Here, if recipes don’t specify proportions in grams and milliliters, they usually specify proportions for 250 ml glasses.
Best regards, Iwona
Darla
It looks like the conversion is 236.6 ml/ or 236.6 g to one US cup.
Elizabeth R.
Do you have a full video on this im more of a visual person
Renee

my husband LOVES this ice cream! I have made the strawberry twice and making the chocolate version next. Super easy to make. The only issue is my husband has a hard time waiting 6 hours before eating! And I got the ice cream containers because they just make it look cute!
Jessie Daye
Hahaha I love to hear that! Thank you for coming back and letting me know!
Jessie Daye
Thank you for the comment! xx

Rugina Bahar
I’d like to try a coconut version, would adding coconut milk and desiccated coconut with the condensed milk will work?
Pat Griffiths
I have made a similar icecream before which is delicious, only thing is having to wait for it to soften when it comes out of the freezer. Is there any way to make it soft scoop?
Liliane Jaoui
Do you have a recipe for non dairy ice cream. Can you replace the cream with non dairy whipping cream?
Allison Waid
Can you put this in an ice cream maker?
Farrel
That sounds SO good. Maybe follow her strawberry recipe but sub cherry pie filling for the jam? Or start with her vanilla and add it!
techkim
OK, my Boys and I each made a flavor when did s’mores when did strawberry cheesecake and I did Rocky Road? They’re in the freezer and we’re really excited.
Lena
I have made 10 of the flavours so far, and have not been dissapointed once ! I have shared the link to friends and family. Best recipe find to date ! I would love a chocoalte peanut butter one though 🙂
Alli
To make chocolate peanut butter you could add 1 tbsp of PB2 to the chocolate recipe!
Monica Klein
I just made the chocolate version and swirled in some creamy butter! It’s delicious. Thinking next time I might just add some chopped peanut butter cups or use some peanut butter chips! I have also made the vanilla using the coconut sweetened condensed milk, it was a huge hit with my kids and grandkids! Adding that pinch of salt is definitely worth it! Best ice cream ever!
Hannah
How do you keep your ice cream from thawing out so quickly? I see in the instructions it says to take out 30 minutes before serving but when I take mine out, it melts very quickly (within a few minutes). Is there a trick to this?
Otherwise it’s delicious!!
Rebecca Mocniak
The first time I tried this recipe I also had areas of my batch that weren’t firm. The second time I made it I took half a can of condensed milk and added the (liquid and powder) flavorings first and mixed it together well. Then I added my 2 cups heavy cream to the condensed milk mixture and beat it all together (instead of combining the cream with the condensed milk AFTER I whipped the cream by itself! …and then add your topping to the fully whipped mixture.) It was very well incorporated but expect to whip the mixture longer by at least 5 mins. When I froze it on my second batch, the whole mixture was well incorporated and hard. *I don’t think this recipe requires a whole can of condensed milk; half was sweet enough for my household 🙂
Good luck. Report back!
Irene JK
I’ve tried other recipes but this was my best. Could I use jarred peaches as opposed to fresh for my peach ice cream?
Brenda
I’ve tried the cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip, chocolate and I also made a vanilla with toffee crunch and all of them have been so delicious. My family loves every one of them. I also made three different batches for a friend of mine for her birthday and she commented how great they were and they all taste so creamy. Thank you so much for these great recipes.
