Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil or olive oil spray
  • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
  • ** I used TJ Dill pickle seasoning and Lawry’s seasoning as well (optional)

Method

  1. Using a mandolin or sharp knife, slice the potatoes into round discs. Use a one-two inch heart cutter (depending on how big your potatoes are) to make the heart fries.
  2. Place all your fries in an ice water bath for one hour. This will remove any excess starch and will help the fries crisp up more in the oven or air fryer.
  3. Preheat oven or air fryer to 375 degrees F.
  4. Remove the potatoes from the ice bath and pat completely dry with a paper towel.
  5. Toss with olive oil, kosher salt and any other desired seasonings.
  6. Add fries to air fryer or oven, making sure they are not stacked. Bake 15-20 minutes, until crispy and golden brown. Serve hot. Enjoy!
