Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 2 cups blackberries
  • 2 cups raspberries
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

Method

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. 2. In a large bowl gently combine berries with sugar and flour. Pour coated berries in prepared pie dish.
  3. 3. Prepare the topping by combining oats, flour, both sugars, and salt in a bowl. Use a pastry blender or hands to crumble the cold butter until topping resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle evenly over the berries.
  4. 4. Place the pie dish on a baking sheet and bake on the center rack until the the center is bubbling and the topping is golden brown, about 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove the berry crisp and let cool on a rack. Sprinkle with finishing sugar if desired and serve with vanilla ice cream.
