Halloween Specimen Jars
What you need
- Random jars (sauce jars, apothecary jars, mason jars)
- Lilyshop Label templates
- Antique Mod Podge
- Paint brush
- Brown coffee filters
- Lighter
- Twine
- Watercolor paints
- Hot glue
- Pretzel sticks
- Water
- Black food coloring
- Red food coloring
- Baking soda
- Burlap twine
- Toy plastic eyeballs
- Green food coloring
- Glow sticks
- Head of cauliflower
- Cooked pasta
- Jar of roasted red peppers
- Half portobello mushroom
- Vinegar
- Alka Seltzer
Directions
- Lid Covers:
- Brush one side of brown coffee filter with Mod Podge and let dry.
- Carefully burn edges with a lighter.
- Cover jar and tie with twine. Labels:
- Download and print Lilyshop Specimen Jar labels.
- Brush with brown watercolor paint and antique Mod Podge, let dry or bake at 250 degrees for 5 minutes.
- Rip edges jagged and burn with lighter if desired (use over water-filled sink for safety).
- Attach with hot glue. Jar fillings include: Dragon Intestines (pretzel sticks soaked in water, drained, add black food coloring), Dead Mermaid Hair (burlap twine with red food coloring), Raven Eyeballs (toy eyeballs in water with green food coloring), Unicorn Blood (glow stick contents), Zombie Brains (cauliflower with red food coloring), Mummy Guts (cooked pasta with red and black food coloring), Gnome Hearts (roasted red peppers with red food coloring), Ear of Troll (portobello mushroom with red food coloring).
