Make giant lawn checkers from paint bucket lids and spray paint to play on an astro turf board.

DIY Lawn Checkers
What you need
- 12' x 12' astro turf rug
- 58 five gallon bucket lids
- Red spray paint (2 cans)
- Black spray paint (2 cans)
- White spray paint (2 cans)
- Painters tape
- Clear acrylic UV spray paint
- Hot glue
- Goo Gone
Directions
- Lay out all paint bucket lids and remove labels with goo gone. Make sure lids are clean and goo gone free before spray painting.
- Hot glue two lids back to back and peel off any glue sticking out of the sides.
- Spray paint one side of all lids and allow to dry before spraying with clear UV spray. Let dry and flip over and do the same to other side.
- Roll out astro turf rug and tape off checkerboard. Use a tape measure to make squares - there are 64 squares on the board so make each square 12" x 12". TIP: You can also just use tape and your driveway, or carpet etc.
- Using white spray paint, spray every other square and the border. Allow everything to dry.
- Put checkers in place and play!
TIP: Removing labels is the most difficult part of the project.

if the rug is 12×12′ and he squares are each 1×1′, then that would be 12 squares, that seems off, or am I missing something? Thanks,
