DIY Felt Taco Card
What you need
- 1 sheet stiff green felt
- 1 sheet stiff red felt
- 1 sheet soft brown felt (for the meat)
- 1 sheet soft white felt (for the sour cream)
- 1 sheet soft bright yellow felt (for the cheese)
- 1 sheet yellow wool felt (for the taco shell)
- Fabric scissors
- Hot glue
- Chalk (for tracing)
Directions
- Fold yellow wool felt in half and cut around the top of both pieces to resemble a taco shell. Iron flat if wrinkled.
- Open the taco shell and place brown felt on top. Trace around with chalk to match dimensions. Cut the brown felt and hot glue to the inside of the shell. Cut off the top of the meat so it only shows on the bottom portion. Use minimal glue to prevent seeping through.
- Cut jagged pieces of green felt for lettuce and hot glue around the meat, positioning creatively so it hangs out like a real taco.
- Cut out 6 red 1-inch squares for tomatoes and hot glue them under and above the lettuce.
- Optional: Cut a small squiggly line of white felt for sour cream and place at the top of the taco, peeking out from underneath the shell.
- Cut tiny pieces of cheese (1-inch slivers) and carefully glue all over the taco. Use alternative glue for tiny pieces if worried about burning yourself with hot glue.
