Chalkboard Serving Trays
What you need
- Country Wood Round
- Chalkboard Paint or Chalkboard Spray Paint
- Chalkboard Marker or regular chalk
- Painter's tape
- Lazy Susan hardware
- 6" square of Felt
- Hot glue or Wood glue
- 6" piece of cardboard
Directions
- Tape off the sides of your wood with painter's tape to create a clean edge and protect the wood sides from paint.
- Paint your wood slab with chalkboard paint or spray paint and let dry completely.
- Once dry, peel off the painter's tape and set aside.
- If attaching a lazy susan, flip the tray over and use hot glue to attach the hardware. For very large platters, use screws instead of glue.
- Once the glue is dry, attach a small piece of cardboard to the lazy susan and cover the cardboard with felt. This prevents the metal hardware from scratching your table. Tips: Use regular chalk instead of chalkboard markers if you plan to change designs frequently, as markers can stain the surface.
