Transform plain plastic Easter eggs into decorative blue speckled eggs using spray paint and acrylic details.

What you need

  • Plastic Easter Eggs with tiny holes at the bottom
  • Styrofoam
  • Toothpicks
  • Satin Aqua Rust-oleum Spray paint
  • Krylon Satin Catalina Mist spray paint
  • Copper or Dark Brown acrylic paint
  • Tiny paint brush

Directions

  1. Stand toothpicks in sets of two all over styrofoam and set an egg on each set to hold them upright for even spray painting without touching them.
  2. Lightly spray Aqua spray paint all over the eggs and let dry.
  3. Apply a gentle coat of Catalina Mist spray paint and let dry.
  4. Touch up all over the egg and remaining spots with Aqua color again and let dry.
  5. Using a tiny paint brush, gently flick bronze or dark brown acrylic paint on the egg or dot small specks all over to create a random speckled appearance.
