DIY Wood Log Votive Holder
What you need
- Birch or Pine logs
- C clamp
- Safety goggles
- Power drill with 1/4" paddle attachment
- Tea light votives in clear plastic holders
Directions
- Source soft wood logs - Birch or Pine are recommended. Michaels carries birch logs, or cut branches from outside.
- Clamp your log down securely with a C clamp.
- Put on safety goggles - wood pieces will fly everywhere during drilling.
- Using a power drill with a 1/4" paddle attachment, drill into the center of the log.
- Keep checking with a tea light as you drill to make sure you drill far enough down into the log for the votive to fit.
- Put muscle into the drilling process.
- Once drilled, fill each hole with a tea light votive.
- Place the finished holders on the center of your table or as desired.
- Replace the votives when they burn out and reuse the wood holders.
