DIY Fringe Balloons
What you need
- 36" balloon with ribbon
- 2 to 3 colors of plastic tablecloths
- Scissors
- Tape
- Stapler
- Feathers and glitter (optional)
- Colorful ribbon (optional)
Directions
- Unfold plastic tablecloth so it's folded in half horizontally only once.
- Fold in half again to create four layers.
- Cut the folded tablecloth in half.
- Separate the pieces and cut 1-inch strips, leaving a 2-inch space at the top uncut.
- Roll the fringe strips together to form a tassel shape.
- Staple the top to secure and create a pom pom effect.
- Make 12-20 tassels depending on desired fullness.
- Attach the first tassel to the top of the balloon ribbon at the base using tape.
- Wrap tape around balloon ribbon and continue attaching all remaining tassels down the ribbon.

- Optionally add feathers, glitter, or colorful ribbon for extra decoration. Tips: Plastic tablecloths are inexpensive ($1 each) and yield about 12 tassels per tablecloth. These balloons work great for birthday parties, wedding showers, baby showers, and engagement photos.
