Christmas Rudolph Jars
What you need
- 1 large mason jar
- Piece of brown felt
- 2 brown pipe cleaners
- 1 red pom or glitter nose
- 2 googley eyes
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Betty Crocker printable tags
- 1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 container Betty Crocker chocolate frosting
- Sprinkles
Directions
- JAR ASSEMBLY:
- Trace the mason jar lid onto brown felt and cut with scissors.
- Apply hot glue to the lid and press down the felt circle, allow to dry.
- Using hot glue, apply the googley eyes and nose.
- Fill jar with cookies and close tight.
- Using a tiny dab of hot glue, apply the pipe cleaner antlers to both sides of the jar. TIP: Apply antlers last so you don't have to twist the lid for 5 minutes to line them up with eyes and nose. THUMBPRINT COOKIES:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In large bowl add cookie mix, butter, and egg. Mix with handheld mixer on low speed for 1-2 minutes until combined.
- Roll dough into 1.5" balls and place on baking sheet, careful not to make too big or they won't fit in jar.
- Bake 8-10 minutes until just slightly light brown.
- While hot, use back of spoon to twist slightly and make small indentation in middle of cookie.
- Fill center with small amount of chocolate frosting and immediately press into sprinkles, allow to dry.
- Fill jar with cookies, add printable tag to antler, and leave on neighbor or friend's doorstep.
