Create miniature play food Ding Dong snacks with magnetic backs to use as Valentine’s Day cards.

Play Food Ding Dong Valentines
What you need
- 1" or 2" tall sponge
- Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X Kona brown gloss spray paint
- Basics burnt umber acrylic paint
- Collage Clay vanilla
- 2¾" round cookie cutter
- Aluminum foil (thin)
- 0.75" round ceramic magnets
- X-Acto knife
- Serrated knife
- Small paint brush
- Offset spatula or plastic knife
- Hot glue gun
- Valentine Template
Directions
- Use cookie cutter as guide to cut circles from sponge with X-Acto knife, pressing down and cutting all the way around. If using 2" sponge, cut circles in half to get 1" height.
- Cut irregular "bite" marks into each Ding Dong with X-Acto knife.
- Spread Collage Clay on top and sides with offset spatula to simulate chocolate glaze, avoiding bite marks. Let dry completely.
- In ventilated area, spray bottom with Kona Brown paint, dry, flip and spray top and sides. Repeat as needed until fully covered.
- Paint the bite area with burnt umber acrylic paint for chocolate cake appearance. Don't paint outer glazed edge.
- Spread Collage Clay in center of bite for cream filling and let dry.
- Cut aluminum foil into 7" squares and hot glue one Ding Dong to center of each sheet.
- Flip over and hot glue magnet to center on underside. Let dry thoroughly.
- Print and cut Valentine template to desired shape.
