A donut is like sitting on the couch in sweats on a rainy day, with a comfy blanket, with super thick socks, candles burning, and your favorite movie on.
It’s happiness covered in sprinkles.
It’s Christmas morning wrapped in an apple fritter.
Ok, you get the point.
Life is too short not to eat donuts so make some.
I made these with canned biscuits.
That means I didn’t have to spend 10 hours making dough and waiting for it to rise.
I popped the biscuits out, fried them up, and made some yummy glaze.
These are the perfect Valentine treat.
So make some today and tell your Valentine how much you love them with homemade donuts.

Biscuit Valentine Donuts

Donut Ingredients
Peanut Oil for frying
1 package Pillsbury Grand canned Biscuits

Glaze Ingredients
1/4 cup whole milk
2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt

Directions
1. Heat 2 inches peanut oil in a large pot to 350 degrees F (Use a thermometer)

2. While your oil is heating, remove your biscuits from the package and lay them out on a cutting board and with a 1 1/2-inch round cookie cutter, cut out a hole from the middle of each biscuit (you can also use the bottom of a wide metal piping tip.

3. Fry the donuts in the oil until golden and then flip with the handle of a wooden spoon (or tongs) to fry the other side. Make sure to fry the donut holes as well.

4. Remove from oil and place the donuts and donut holes on paper towels to remove excess oil.

5. To make the glaze, combine milk and vanilla in a small saucepan over low heat and cook for about a minute then slowly add the powdered sugar and finally the pinch of salt. Stir to combine and remove.

6. Pour over donuts (works best if donuts are on a rack so it can drip down on the sides) and then decorate with sprinkles or chopped pink wafers like pictured above if desired. Best eaten same day.

TIP: If your glaze siezes just place it back over low heat and stir for a minute.
